(The following post was from several posts I made on The Samba forum over a couple of months, I decided to move the documentation here as it's easier to just have one place to update.)
Shortly after we bought the van we signed up for our first Portland Vanagons meet, it was at Pacific City, on the beach.
Some people think we're crazy. These old vans are not known for their reliability/power/air conditioning, well, they are, but infamously so. I have wanted a VW van since I was a young boy, spotting them on the British coast. Growing up my parents would always take us to the seaside, even in winter, and there were always tons of VW vans. We were looking for a second car so Bex could get to her work placements/ volunteer assignments, and since the vans here in the Pacific NorthWest are in much better condition than in the UK or the Midwest, it seemed only meant to be that we picked up a mostly rust free example with low miles.
The plan is to get it safe and reliable doing most of the work ourselves.

We'll be tackling these items in amongst finishing off the Astro, wish us luck!
