This beautiful salad is perfect for hot summer days. It reminds me so much of summers in Turkey when I was a kid. It is also one of the easiest dishes I make. It's hard to mess this one up, so feel free to experiment with the amount of each ingredient.
Slice 1 orange
Slice 2 mandarins
Slice 1/2 of a red onion
Chop a handful of fresh mint leaves
Place ingredients in a bowl
Add 1 tablespoon of Rosewater or Orange Blossom water
Add 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil
Sprinkle with Sumac
Gently stir to ensure all fruit is covered in mixture
Optional: Place in fridge for 20-30 minutes to chill
That's it! I told you it is simple to make! This dish always impresses people even though it is very basic. I change it up from time to time by adding extra ingredients. Some variations I have done in the past include adding nuts, pomegranate seeds, spinach, grapefruit, and for evening parties, a few tables spoons of Bacardi. Tell us about any variations you've made to this classic dish in the comments below.
